I had a great stay in Yacuma Ecolodge. The fauna and flora, sounds, stars, … of the Ecuadorian Rainforest are just spectacular. The indigenous staff is so proud to show you their forest and are willing to explain everything.”

Two days before Christmas 2011 we were going to the jungle. I traveled through Ecuador with a Dutch Djoser group. We arrived with the boat at the lodge. The first impression was good, because we had our first welcome drink during that trip. After the drink we were escorted to our cabins. Every cabin had its own bathroom, toilet, electricity and a hammock on the porch!

The next morning we had a guided tour through the rain forest. That was very fun, but warm. The guide showed plants and trees with healing fluid. One guy from the group had sore gums so he got rubbed with some ‘devils blood’ on it and after a few hours the sore gums were gone! The raft in a tube over the river was a good start of Christmas Eve; snacks with sangria, diner with fine wine and a campfire with local musicians.
