Frequently Asked Questions

Any time of the year  is a good time to visit the lodge, as the climate varies slightly from month to month. Yacuma is located in the rainforest of the Ecuadorian Amazon, which is characterized by heavy rainfall throughout the year with rainfall between 3,000 and 4,000 mm3 and humidity between 85° to 95°.
From december to march, it has a dry season pronounced, the rainy weather goes from April to July; and from August to November, rainfall is moderate.

The annual temperature is more than 25 degrees Celsius. The average temperature during the day is 31°C and the temperature at night is 22°C regardless of the time of year.

Visitors will drive from Quito, following the beautiful route through the villages of Papallacta and Baeza, until they reach the town of Tena. From Tena to the town of San Pedro, you will travel about 2 hours. The only accessible way to get to the lodge is by canoe, this takes about 25 minutes to get to the lodge.

No vaccinations are required to enter Ecuador or Yacuma Ecolodge. No cases of tropical diseases (malaria, yellow fever, cholera) have been reported in or near the lodge. However, we always suggest that our passengers consult their doctor for the most up-to-date information and advice before arriving in the Ecuadorian Amazon jungle.

Children are welcome at Yacuma Ecolodge. In fact, our lodge is every child’s fantasy: a place to hike, swim, fish, paddle, and generally play. We have had children as young as ten months and groups as large as 15 at a time. Make your children enjoy the jungle too! Children under 6 years old do not have to pay the cost of the tour if they stay with their parents in the same room and share the same bed.

Remember to bring your identity document, light clothing, comfortable walking shoes, and items to protect yourself from the weather.
