About us

The Lodge

The lodge has twelve comfortable bungalows mixing a traditional Amazonian style, with a projection of modernity, seeking to reach the energy efficiency, comfort, and unique style of the Amazon. Constructed with metal frames, and sustainably harvested local materials, combined with modern efficiency focused elements, our 24 rooms have electricity and hot water provided by solar photovoltaic and thermal panels respectively. The water is supplied by a nearby spring, ensuring purity and closeness.

The Dinning

All the food in the Lodge is local, contributing to the economy of the area and reducing the impact of importing products. We offer vegetarian or vegan diets, and we take all precautions with restrictions of any kind. Your travel concierge will ask you for certain dietary information prior to your trip.

OUR BACKBONE

SUSTAINABILITY

We own and privately protect close to 300 hectares of Amazon Rainforest, that have been declared a forest reserve. By booking through us, you contribute to our own reforestation fund founded in 1995. We hope to expand this reserve and safeguard our natural resources for future generations.

Built with sustainability in mind:

SOLAR ENERGY
All the ilumination systems in the lodge are fueled by solar panels.
Hot water
Thermal solar panels provide hot water in all private bathrooms.
FOOD
All food is locally sourced and varied to fit all dietary requirements including vegan and vegetarian diets.
EMPLOYEES
All our staff is part of the local Quichua community and take part in constant training and development courses.

Routes

How to get there?

A pleasant journey begins from Quito through the different ecosystems of the eastern Andes, until you reach the upper Amazon. You will pass through the cities of Baeza, Tena, and the small village of Santa Rosa on the banks of the Rio Napo, before your arrival by canoe to the Lodge.

PRIVATE TRANSPORT

Private transport is currently our recommended transportation option. A 7 a.m. departure from Quito is encouraged, as the trip takes approximately 5 hours to reach Tena and an additional 2 hours to the village of Santa Rosa, where your transportation will be kept at a private garage. Arrival times need to be specified prior to your departure, in order for our staff to be ready for your arrival.

There are several alternatives for meals during the journey to Yacuma, which will be presented by your travel concierge before your departure.

Additional attractions during the journey may be reserved by your travel concierge, such as a visit to the Papallacta Thermal Pools, or a very special exhibition of butterflies from the Andean Choco."
